Located at the southwestern tip of Europe, where the Atlantic meets the wild cliffs of the Algarve, Sagres offers some of the most consistent swells and breathtaking sunsets on the continent. At Wavy Surf Camp, we want your journey to be as smooth as a perfect glass wave.
Whether you are a first-timer or a returning member of the Wavy family, here is everything you need to know to plan your trip with total confidence.
1. Travel with Peace of Mind: Our Super Flexible Terms
We know that travel plans require agility. To ensure you can book your glamping experience without stress, we’ve updated our Flexible Booking Policy to be one of the most friendly in the Algarve:
- 15-Day Full Refund: If you cancel more than 15 days before arrival, you receive a 100% refund of the amount paid (minus a small 3% administrative fee to cover non-refundable Stripe and banking commissions).
- Last-Minute Protection: Even if you cancel between 15 and 7 days before arrival, we still offer a 50% refund.
- Why we do this: We believe in transparency. This small 3% fee simply covers the technical costs of the transaction, allowing us to keep our booking process secure and reliable for everyone.

2. Getting Here: Faro vs. Lisbon (The Pro Guide) ✈️🚌
Choosing the right airport can save you time and money. Here are your two best options:
Option A: Flying to Faro (FAO)
- The Vibe: Fast and convenient.
- The Journey: About 1h 15min drive. It’s the closest gateway to the surf.
- Pro Tip: Perfect if you want to get in the water as soon as possible. We recommend booking a transfer or renting a car in advance to explore the nearby beaches like Beliche or Tonel.
Option B: Flying to Lisbon (LIS) + Direct Bus
- The Vibe: Budget-friendly and scenic.
- The Journey: Approximately 3 hours.
- The “Secret” Route: Many international flights to Lisbon are significantly cheaper. From Lisbon’s Sete Rios station, there is a direct bus (Rede Expressos) straight to Sagres.
- The Cost: It usually costs around €20, features comfortable seats and Wi-Fi, and is a great way to see the beautiful Alentejo landscape.
3. Why Sagres?
While other coastal towns get crowded, Sagres remains the soul of surfing. With waves for all levels, from the gentle rollers of Arrifana to the powerful peaks of the south coast and our eco-friendly glamping tents, you aren’t just booking a stay; you are joining a community of ocean lovers.
