1. Can I go to Wavy SurfCamp if I have never gone surfing?
Absolutely! Our surf camp in the Algarve is designed for all levels. Most of our students have never surfed before, so you’ll feel right at home. During your stay, you will learn to surf step by step, starting from scratch, with both theoretical and practical knowledge to confidently ride your first waves.
Important: You must know how to swim.
2. If I already have some surfing ability, must I attend classes?
Yes! Even if you have prior experience, surfing is a challenging sport. Our experienced instructors will help you improve your technique and performance in the water, allowing you to progress faster and surf more efficiently.
3. Can I bring my own equipment?
Of course! If you are used to a particular surfboard, you may bring it to maintain your comfort and level.
If you want to try other boards from our inventory, our instructors will recommend the best equipment based on your skill level and progress.
4. Must I come accompanied to the Surf Camp?
Not at all! Whether you come alone or with friends, Wavy Surf Camp in Portugal offers a friendly and social environment where you’ll quickly make new friends from all over the world.
5. Where do people come from?
Students come mainly from Europe, but also from Canada, the US, and Australia. The camp offers a multicultural and enriching experience, perfect for making international friends.
6. Can I use the surf equipment outside of lessons?
No. Surf equipment is only for scheduled surf lessons. Using it outside lessons could cause fatigue or injury, as your muscles need proper rest.
7. What kind of food is provided?
We provide three meals per day: breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
- Breakfast: Balanced and energizing to prepare you for your surf lessons.
- Dinner: Delicious international cuisine with a Spanish twist. Vegetarian and vegan options are available upon request.
8. Is there Wi-Fi at the SurfCamp?
Yes, there is Wi-Fi throughout the camp and at the campsite reception.
However, due to our hilltop location, signal quality may vary. Basic browsing, WhatsApp, and social media usually work fine. For a stronger connection, use the campsite reception Wi-Fi a few meters away.
9. Can someone pick me up from the airport, bus, or train station?
We do not provide transfers directly, but we can recommend reliable transport companies. Check our How to Arrive at the Camp guide for details.
10. Is it mandatory to arrive on Sunday?
While not mandatory, we strongly recommend arriving on Sunday because our weekly schedule runs from Sunday to Sunday, including activities and lessons.
11. Can I order food directly at the Camp?
Yes! Simply inform our staff in advance, and your meals will be prepared and included in your plan.
12. Can I book extra nights once I am there?
Absolutely, subject to availability. Returning guests can enjoy special discounts for additional weeks.
13. Do you accept student groups or other organizations?
Yes! We welcome student groups, gyms, clubs, and organizations. Wavy Surf Camp in Sagres, Algarve is an ideal destination for group holidays.

14. If I don’t book surf lessons, can I use the surf equipment?
Yes, guests who have not booked lessons can rent surf equipment at special rates. Contact info@wavysurfcamp.com for details.
15. What are the tents like? How many people do they accommodate?
Our Surf Lodge tents are equipped with:
- Wooden floors, mattresses, bed frame, bedside table, and electric light.
- Normal Plus Glamping Tents: include pillow and blanket.
- Luxury Glamping Tents: include full bedding, terrace with chill-out area, chairs, welcome pack, and extra decoration.
Tents typically accommodate 2–4 people, with a maximum capacity of 8.
16. What activities are offered at the Camp?
During a 7-day stay:
- 5 days dedicated to surfing (optional surf lessons on Sundays)
- 1 arrival day and 1 free day to relax
Optional activities include yoga, ping pong, volleyball, Sagres bars, St. Vincent Cape sunset trips, concerts, and more. Some activities may incur extra costs.
17. Are there discounts for returning guests?
Yes! Returning guests receive a 7% discount on 7-day stays.
18. What surf equipment is provided for students?
All students have access to our surfboards, wetsuits, and safety equipment. Guests not attending lessons can rent boards at discounted rates.
19. What is the average age at Wavy Surf Camp Portugal?
Most of our guests are between 18 and 35 years old.
20. What should I bring to the Surf Camp?
Essential items:
- Warm clothes for cooler evenings
- Beach essentials: sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, flip-flops, swimwear
- ID or passport
- European Health Insurance Card or private insurance
- Any personal medication
